What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of healing through energy. Originating from Japan, it works by channeling universal life force energy to help clear blockages and restore balance in your body, mind, and spirit. Unlike many therapies, Reiki is gentle, natural, and deeply calming. Whether you’re holding onto emotional stress, physical tension, or mental clutter, Reiki supports your body’s own healing process. The energy flows through the practitioner’s hands, promoting relaxation and peace wherever it’s needed most.


What Happens During a Reiki Session?

You don’t need to do anything special to experience Reiki. Just show up, get comfortable, and breathe. You may sit or lie down fully clothed while the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above your body in a series of positions. Most people describe feeling warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation.

There’s no pressure to “believe” in Reiki — it works through your body’s natural energy, whether or not you’re consciously aware of it.
